We have decided not to hold another meeting until after the local elections on 1^st May as everybody is so busy. please watch this space for the next date

Last Meeting

It was decided to make funds available to fight in seven wards this year. Five wards where we were so successful last year, plus an additional Two.

It was further decided that we will actively support MART (Manchester against road tolls) and their fantastic petition for an elected Mayor for Tameside.

We are also joining the ABD (Association of British Drivers)

as an affiliate.

It was announced that we now have our own printing machine which will enable us to produce our own Newsletters to tell local residents exactly what we have been doing on their behalf.

UKIP Futures

Withdraw from Europe and put UK interests first.

Introduce a flat tax removing the lower paid from Income Tax.

Follow the voter’s wishes & shut down the Regional Assemblies.

Give voters more say through Direct Democracy.

Answer and resolve the West Lothian question.

Protect our fish stocks and industry by regaining control of our fishing waters.

Raise the basic state pension by £25 per week per person. Paid for by the money we give the EU. This will make millions better off and release millions from means testing

ABOUT US

UKIP Rosette Who are we?

We are ordinary people who are tired of the Lib/Lab/Con-sensus being imposed upon us by the 3 old parties and their friends in the media. We believe that a vote for any of the big three parties is a vote for more of the same. Both nationally and in Tameside. All of them have the same views and policies and differ only in minor detail.

What do we believe?

· Taxes must be lower

· Mass immigration must stop

· Pensions must be higher

· Political correctness must stop

· Less bureaucracy in government and councils

· Lower council tax

· More prisons must be built

· More criminals must be locked up and for longer

· The war on motorists must stop

· Cut red tape for business

· Stop state funding of political parties

· Give parents an education voucher to spend where they want

· Bring back grammar schools

· Ensure all kids can read and write

· Reduce the number of speed cameras

· Stop spending taxpayers money on political non jobs

· Scrap the TV license fee

· Cut council tax by 40%

· Make the police accountable to local communities

· Ensure we know who enters and who leaves our country

· Stop the selling off of school playing fields

· Scrap inheritance tax

· Scrap National Insurance contributions

· Introduce a flat tax system

· Make the NHS work

· Support local shops

· Bring back markets and town centers

· Stop 5000 people a year from dying of MRSA

· Ensure everybody has access to an NHS dentist

· Withdraw British forces from Iraq

· Stop paying subsidies to French farmers

· Give our fishermen their fishing grounds back

· Stop council tax revaluation

· Stop the road pricing scheme

All of these are both achievable and affordable, what a disaster that the Lib Lab Con are not prepared or able to commit to more than a couple of these.

UKIP SNIPPETS

UKIP supports Council tax campaigners in their fight against ever higher Council tax.

We will never agree to our council tax being used to pay for the NW assembly, Which is undemocratic and another layer of unelected busy-bodies spending our money

UKIP Opposes Tameside councils deliberate road congestion policy. Making Car journeys harder does not make buses attractive.

UKIP were the Third largest party in the 2004 European elections on 16.1% of the vote, pushing the Liberal Democrats into Fourth place.

UKIP will have a candidate in as many wards as possible in Tameside for the 2008 local elections.

UKIP oppose the current hysteria over Global warming which we believe is being used as a pretext to raise Green taxes which are nothing of the sort.

2.7 million People voted for us in the European elections in 2004, More than the Liberal Democrats making us the 3^rd largest party in the UK .
